Stranded! Dolphin Rescue recounts Uncle Ken's experience as a Fisheries Officer when he helped to rescue a mass stranding of dolphins in a remote part of South Australia. Uncle Ken describes how they battled extreme cold and freezing water temperatures to rescue as many of these sacred and important animals as they could. His story demonstrates the sheer determination & resilience that was required to achieve such an amazing outcome, and the special bond that First Nations people have with them.
Ken Jones is a proud Boandik Elder from South Australia. Ken has always shown a keen interest in the importance of sustainability and the environment and his current work as an educator reinforces and extends his passion. His knowledge of Australian flora and fauna is extensive & his achievements are many and varied, including his award for 2019 NAIDOC Male Elder of the Year, Boandik Community.
